ΒιΆΉΣ³» Students Awarded SECU Foundation Scholarships

September 2, 2022 β ΒιΆΉΣ³» joined the in celebrating two curriculum students, Christian Cole and Andrew Burgmuller for their leadership, character, integrity, community involvement, and scholastic achievement. Both students received βPeople to Peopleβ scholarships presented by the State Employeesβ Credit Union Advisory Board Member, Dr. Jerry Oates. BCC President, Dr. Gene Smith assisted with the presentation.
SECU Foundation established this scholarship program to help NC community college students achieve success. These are two of the 116 scholarships provided by SECU Foundation to NC community college students.
Also recognized were nine BCC Continuing Education students who received “Bridge to Career” Scholarships from the Foundation. This scholarship program was designed to help remove financial barriers for students seeking to obtain state-regulated or industry-recognized credentials that lead to sustainable wage careers within their local communities. Bridge to Career Scholarship recipients included Frank Berger, Jaylin Bowens, Ryan DeJong, Ian Evans, Jacob Harden, Adam Miller, Shannon Mullen, Marissa Smart, and Sabree Thomas.
